Simple Holiday Treat: Cranberry Granitas

Simple Holiday Dessert: Cranberry Granita- part science experiment, part sensory experience, part yummy treat- this is a must-try with the kids this year!

Thanks so much to our sponsors EVITE® and Rubbermaid® Easy Find Lids™ for providing the recipe and ideas for today’s post and thank you for supporting the brands that support MPMK.

I admit, when I think of holiday desserts, a cold treat doesn’t usually spring to mind. These cranberry granitas are the exception.

Why? Mostly because they’re so fun to make but also because they make for such a “wow” presentation at holiday gatherings.

It also doesn’t hurt that every step in the recipe is super simple and really engaging for kids. Mixing it all up on the stove, freezing in handy Rubbermaid® Easy Find Lids™ containers, scraping away with a fork, and then freezing again… It’s part science experiment, part sensory play, and part yummy treat.

With all the baking that goes on this time of year, I have to say I also really appreciate the low mess factor. (No countertop covered in flour and powdered sugar to clean up- hooray!)

Plus, it’s so pretty and perfect as a party dessert. (I’m totally stealing the presentation suggestion of serving in cocktail glasses on a tray decorated with fresh cranberries.)
