Two Things I’m Totally Loving Right Now

I don’t know about you all, but I’ve been receiving a lot of UPS deliveries lately! (With all the sale going on this time of year, I guess it’s kind of inevitable.) So today I thought I’d share with you the two things I was most excited about landing on my doorstep this month!

#1 Swannies Blue Light Blockers for Kids

At the urging of the older kids, our family has started a new mini-tradition of winding down by watching a show together a few nights a week before bedtime.

When this idea was first floated by my 10-year-old and 8-year old (who, of course, got the idea from their friends) I was skeptical. Our screen time is fairly limited during the week and I’ve read all the bad stuff about screens right before bed and sleep.

But then two things happened:

  1. The kids said what they were most interested in watching were throwback shows like America’s Funniest Home Videos and Family Matters… Um, did someone say nostalgic 90’s TV? Yep, I’m in. (Cautionary note: If you start doing this with your kids, skip the old Full House reruns- that show DOES NOT hold up; especially in it’s treatment of relationships).
  2. I received some super cool blue light blocking kids’ glasses to review.

Have you guys heard of Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses for Better Sleep?

I actually have a neighbor that swears by blue light blocking lenses and wears them religiously before bed but I’d never thought of using them for my kids!

So here’s the deal, Swannies Blue Light Blocking Glasses improve your sleep and health by filtering out harmful artificial light from digital devices. Wearing these FDA-registered glasses at least an hour before bed allows you to use phones, tablets, computers and e-readers freely without disrupting your sleep.

Plus, they also prevent sore eyes, headaches, fatigue and blurred vision associated with digital eye strain.

I love that this company is thinking about the whole family and made kids sizing too! In fact, there’s even a super cool neon line for kids 8 years old and younger.

And the best part; my kids think they’re super fun.

Now a couple nights a week one of them will yell to the other two to, “get the glasses!” and we’ll all pile onto the couch together for a little family bonding before bed.  I’m telling you, coolest healthy choice ever.

#2 Ethan & Emma Diaper Backpack

Is it just me, or are all the cool girls carrying sleek backpacks instead of big bulky handbags these days?

I’ve actually been on the search for one for several months, and so, I was thrilled when I received the new Ethan & Emma Diaper Backpack to review. (If you’re not familiar already, Ethan & Emma make incredibly popular stroller organizers that get rave reviews).

This bag, you guys.

Whether you’re looking for a diaper bag or, like me, just something with lots of storage to wrangle all the stuff you still need for toddlers and young kids– this bag has everything you’ll ever need.

Psst – Before I get to the details, I wanted to let you know for a limited time you can get $25 off just by clicking this coupon on the Amazon product listing:

But back to the bag… there are so many incredible pockets and sections! Quite literally a space for everything.

The main section has three (yes, three!) separate zippered areas, including a fold out changing area for babies and a double zippered mesh area. I use one of these sections to safely store my work laptop away from the kids’ snacks and liquids so that I never have to worry about spills.

The one front and two side pockets are also super handy for hauling around sunscreen, hand sanitizer, MORE snacks, water bottles, etc. Plus there’s a snazzy, no zipper needed, pocket in the front where I drop my keys and yet another pocket in the back where I keep my phone.

In addition to ALL THE POCKETS, there are even organizers inside the pockets to keep everything in it’s place as well as a key hook.

Last but not least, let’s talk style. This bag is seriously striking.

From the gold zippers and label to the gorgeous (and water repellent) black or navy fabric, everything about this backpack makes me feel chic and stylish instead of frumpy like the vast majority of mom bags.

I highly recommend gifting this bag to any of the moms you know this holiday season- and adding it your wish list too!
